Kids Kung Fu Birthday Parties, for all ages!
Please read the following information carefully before contacting us as any questions you have are likely to be answered below.
We love running and teaching our Kids Kung Fu Classes and so helping a child celebrate and enjoy their birthday with some Kung Fu is an honour for us! It's a unique, active and incredibly fun way for your child to celebrate their birthday, that neither they, nor any of their friends, will forget!
Our Instructors will run an hour of activities that represent the most energetic and lively parts of our classes. In general we play our Kung Fu games that are physical and different to typical party games. Depending on what the birthday boy or girl wants, and depending on the ages of the party guests, we may teach the kids some cool Kung Fu moves that they can then practice during the games. We try to fit as much as we can into the hour, aiming to make it as fun as possible and ensuring we always try to include the games and activities that the birthday child likes the most! We conclude the hour with a mini ceremony where we present all the kids with a Certificate to take home and the birthday child gets a special Certificate and Badge.
A 2 hour slot in the viewing gallery (or multipurpose room) at Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre is included in the price. This is one of our regular venues and we find works great for parties. It has enough space for us to run the Kung Fu activities while you set up tables with food/drink for afterwards (if desired).
Every child is different and so every party is different as we tailor the activities to suit the birthday boy or girl. We are able to accommodate a lot of different things and so we encourage you to get in touch if you are interested or have any questions.
How to Book
The first step towards booking a Kids Birthday Party with Cambridge Kung Fu is filling out a Birthday Party Request Form. Use this form to give us as much information as possible about what you, and the birthday boy or girl, require. You do not need to have all the details confirmed to fill out the request form, we'll be in touch to clarify any information or help you to make any decisions.
Once we receive the Birthday Party Request Form we will liaise with you to get the party booked.
Once you have filled out a Birthday Party Request Form we will let you know if we need any extra information, but here are a few things for you to think about...
We provide 1 hour of activities and a 2 hour slot in the room. Hills Road will let you in to the room between 15-30mins before the booking to start getting set up. We have found that it works best when guests are invited to arrive 15mins before the planned start of the Kung Fu hour. That way people don't miss out and they get the full hour of activities.
We find that between 15 and 20 kids makes for a good party, although we are able to handle more or fewer than this, we just need to know in advance so we can be prepared.
If the birthday child attends our classes then we will do our best to get the Instructors of their choice to run their party. (There is a space on the Birthday Party Request Form to request Instructors).
Our parties cost £200 but current members can enjoy a discounted rate of £180.
We have Cambridge Kung Fu Party Invites that you can download here and print off to invite your party guests.
As the children will be partaking in lots of physical activities we advise that it's best they come to the party wearing loose fitting clothes such as shorts or tracksuit trousers to help them stay comfortable during the party. We do our activities bare foot so it doesn't matter what they have on their feet.
We will bring all the necessary equipment needed for our activities as well as the Certificates and Birthday Badge. Every party guest will receive a Certificate and the birthday boy or girl will receive a special Certificate and Badge. Please be aware that we may give you the Birthday Party Certificates to complete during the party unless you can provide us with a list of names in advance.
It is useful if you have drinks of water available during the Kung Fu session so we can give the party guests a few drinks breaks to cool down between games.
We are always careful to ensure that everything we do at a Kung Fu Birthday Party is appropriate for the group of children who are attending. During Birthday Parties we focus on the games from our regular classes, and if we do teach any Kung Fu moves, we will always pick simple, fun moves and ensure we are clear about when it is and isn't ok to use their Kung Fu on other people. We are particularly mindful of the way we introduce Kung Fu to those children that we do not regularly teach.
Where possible (i.e. depending on Instructor availability) we run parties on Saturday afternoons; specific dates are listed below. Weekdays during the School Holidays are also good times to hold a Cambridge Kung Fu Birthday Party and we encourage you to contact us if this is something you are considering so that we can discuss the options.
Our Birthday Parties are very popular, and we run lots of other children's and adults workshops, therefore our weekends can become booked up very quickly. Please make sure you plan ahead to avoid disappointment!
If you are interested in booking a party on a weekday or Saturday afternoon during the Summer Holidays please get in touch with your preferred dates and we will check availability. Please list your preferred slots(s) on the Birthday Party Request Form. Once we have received your Birthday Party Request Form we will let you know if we are able to confirm the slot (based on venue and instructor availability).

We want to say a huge thank you for the Kung Fu party on Sunday. We have had so many positive comments from the parents and the kids who were there, and it's not hard to see why - the kids obviously had a huge amount of fun, not least the two birthday girls. We were really impressed with the instructors, who were positive and encouraging all the way through and kept the kids (who had never done this before) completely engaged for the whole hour. The award ceremony at the end rounded it off so well, the certificates are a great way to give them all something to remember it by. The confidence the children had in showing they had learned something new in front of other people was marvellous to see. Please pass on our warm thanks to the instructors, they were great!
